Made by hand in our Covent Garden kitchen
Gelatone is an artisan gelato producer, not a distributor. Every batch is made in our Covent Garden kitchen and supplied directly to the teams who serve it: restaurants and destination dining rooms, hotels, private members' clubs, cafés, caterers and event businesses.
We produce in small batches, with premium ingredients and a consistent process — because a dessert that changes between deliveries is a problem in a professional kitchen. Our gelato arrives in a format built for service, and we deal with you directly rather than through an account manager.

Bespoke flavours developed with chefs.
Brief us on a dish, an ingredient, a menu or a concept, and our production team will develop a gelato or sorbet around it — from the first trial batch through to the version that goes on your menu. Some kitchens come with a plated dessert they want finished differently. Others want a sorbet built around a single fruit, a flavour that exists only in their dining room, or a menu collaboration tied to a season. The development happens here, in our own kitchen, with your team in the conversation throughout.
Unusual flavour combinations
Briefs that don’t exist on a standard list.
Seasonal fruit sorbets
Built around a fruit at its best moment.
Flavours for plated desserts
Developed to sit alongside the rest of a dish.
Restaurant-exclusive flavours
A recipe that belongs to your venue alone.
Menu collaborations
Developed with your kitchen team around a menu or concept.
Matteo Ognibene
Executive Chef, Gelatone
Matteo spent five years as a pastry chef at Bibendum, the two-Michelin-starred London restaurant, and subsequently worked as a pastry chef at Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley. That is roughly six years in Michelin-starred and high-end pastry environments. Today he leads product development and production at Gelatone.
A pastry background changes how gelato gets developed. It means thinking about texture, sweetness, acidity and temperature the way a kitchen thinks about a dessert — and understanding how a flavour behaves when it has to sit beside the rest of a plated dish rather than on its own. That chef's perspective is what Matteo brings to the gelato and sorbets we develop for restaurant menus.

Gelatone's gelato is produced at 23 Rose Street, in Covent Garden, in the middle of Central London. It is not imported frozen from abroad and it is not made to a mass-market recipe somewhere else. It is made here, in our own kitchen, in batches small enough for us to taste every one before it leaves.
For a London kitchen that matters. Supply is short, the product is fresh rather than shipped, and the people who make your gelato are within a short drive of your pass.
